Heart It
You nailed the interview and got the internship of your dreams the first, very important step towards your awesome future career. These are the some key things you need to do before day one.
Recognize what you want out of your experience
Whether you found the perfect fit or settled for your second choice, an internship is a great place to gain experience and skills. Evaluate the talents you already possess and make a list of the ones you want to develop: Learning to prioritize, anticipating a superior's needs, and problem-solving are essential to being a good intern.
Prepare to dress appropriately
It's common career advice to dress for the job you want, and it's important to show your supervisor that you represent the brand in the best possible way. In other words, do your research: If you are working for a big company, chances are you will be able to find a few photos of the office online and be able to get a glimpse of what staffers are wearing mimic them. If your internship is somewhere more off-the-radar, prepare something classic and professional (the dress and blazer combo never fails) for your first day and take note of what your coworkers are wearing so you can adjust going forward.
Gear up to be a team player
It can be easy to shrug it off as "just an internship", but don't underestimate the value of your input. Even if your tasks seem unimportant, it's important to go in with the awareness that your efforts are freeing up valuable minutes so the people around you can perform their jobs better. You are part of the team, and your contribution matters act like it.
