Concluding this list of India's most fuel efficient cars is the popular Maruti Swift hatchback. While its ARAI rated efficiency is 18.6kpl, on test with us, it delivered 12.6kpl in the city and 17kpl on the highway. The Maruti Swift is powered by a 1197cc, four cylinder engine which develops 86bhp and 11.6kgm of torque. The Swift petrol variants are priced from Rs 4.42 lakh to Rs 5.65 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).
