'The Lunchbox' earns USD 2.7 Million (and counting)

Mumbai, 9th May, 2014: The biggest market for Indian movies, after India, is United States of America. Apart from becoming 2014's Highest Grossing Foreign Film at US Box Office, 'The Lunchbox' has raked in USD 2.7 Million (and counting), according to the box office reporting service, Box Office Mojo. Written and directed by Ritesh Batra, The Lunchbox is produced by Guneet Monga, Anurag Kashyap and Arun Rangachari.
Beating movies like English Vinglish (USD 1.8 Million), Agneepath (USD 1.9 Million) and Krrish 3 (USD 2.2 Million), The Lunchbox has made a significant mark on the US Box Office. It has been predicted that it may soon surpass films like Barfi, Talaash and Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela, each with USD 2.8 Million as their US Box Office collection, and possibly even Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Jab Tak Hai Jaan, both at USD 3.1 Million.
Guneet monga, one of the producers of 'The Lunchbox' is known for her outstanding contribution to the Indian Film Industry and was named as one of the 12 international players to watch in The Hollywood Reporter's 2012 Women in Entertainment special. The publication also called Guneet One of India's most prolific producers of a new wave of cinema making a global impact. India Today has credited her for giving a facelift to Independent Cinema and bridging the gap between Indian films and foreign buyers and distributors.
