Snack time: Make yummy Dahi bhallas at home

How to make:-
Soak urad dal for 2 hrs in water and
keep it aside. Meanwhile make sweet tamarind chutney and green chutney.
To make sweet tamarind
chutney, first soak tamarind in 2 cups of water for 10 minutes and then boil it
for 10 mins on medium flame. Switch off flame and let it cool for some time.
Now mash the pulp properly in water. Strain it. Now cook this strained tamarind
water on medium flame. Add roasted cumin powder, black salt, dry ginger powder,
red chilli powder, jaggery and salt. Keep stirring it avoid lumps. Jaggery should
melt completely. Add more water to make chutney little thin.
Wash
coriander leaves, mint leaves and green chillies thoroughly with water. In a mixer, blend coriander leaves, mint leaves,
green chillies, cumin seeds and pinch of asafoetida to make smooth paste with a
little water. Now add black salt. Transfer chutney to bowl. Now add the lemon
juice and mix well. Green chutney is ready to eat.
Now take out extra water and grind urad
dal into mixture. Now add salt,
chopped green chilli and chopped ginger to paste and mix them well. To make
filling of bhallas by mixing chopped kaju, kishmish, black pepper powder and salt
together in a bowl.
Heat oil in pan for frying. Take a
tablespoon of urad dal mixture on your palm and flatten it out to small circle.
Place some filling in the centre. Now with the help of water close the sides of
the mixture on the hand. The bhallas should look like half moon. Pour them in
hot oil and fry then till golden crisp. Drain out oil from bhallas. Now dip them
in some water for 1/2 hour. Beat curd and add milk and sugar to it.
