How to Make
Wash and drain sago the saboodana and soak in water for 15 minutes. When moisture is absorbed, loosen grains. Heat water, add sago and boil until the saboodana becomes swollen and translucent. Reduce heat, simmer for 5-6 minutes.
Soak saffron flakes in hot milk for 10 minutes. Add sugar, cardamom. Stir occasionally and simmer till the granule is cooked. (Press a granule between thumb and finger. It should flatten on pressing).
Saboodana kheer is ready to serve. Garnish with nuts.
