Shahi Paneer:-
Ingredients
400 gms paneer, 2 large onion quartered, 2 tbsp oil, 3 cloves, 4-5 black peppercorns, 1 inch cinnamon stick, 1 bay leaf, 2 green chillies slit, 1 tsp ginger paste, 1 tsp garlic paste, 1/4 cup cashewnut paste, 1/2 cup yogurt, 1/2 cup cream, a pinch of saffron/kesar, 1/2 tsp garam masala, salt to taste, 1/4 tsp green cardamom powder
How to make
First cut paneer into half inch wide and one inch long pieces. Now boil onions in water and drain them. Make a fine paste of it. Heat the oil in a pan. Add cloves, peppercorns, cinnamon and bay leaf and fry them till fragrant. Add green chillies and boiled onion paste in a paste. Now cook them for 3-4 minutes on low heat. After this, add ginger paste and garlic paste and continue cooking half a minute. Add cashewnut paste and saute for two more minutes. Add yogurt and stir it. Stir in the cream, saffron and garam masala powder and salt to taste. Add paneer pieces and stir gently to mix. Sprinkle green cardamom powder and serve hot.
