Recipe for Malai Pyaaz

Malai Pyaaz an authentic Rajasthani recipe is cooked with onion and lots of malai.
Ingredients

cup Chopped Onion, 4 tspTomato puree, 1/2 cup Fresh milk cream (malai),
1 tsp green chilieschopped, a pinch Asafoetida, 1/2 tsp Turmeric
powder, 1 tsp Cumin seeds (jeera), 1 tsp Corianderpowder, 1 Black
cardamom, 1/2 tsp Kasuri Methi powder, Salt to taste, 2 tsp Oil
How to make
Heat
oil in a pan, Add cumin seeds in hot oil let them crackle. Add
asafetida in it saute for 2-3 seconds.Add the Crushed Black cardamom,
and add turmeric powder, chopped green chilies, coriander powder in pan.
Cook for one more minute and add chopped onions. Cook till onion turn
light brown. Add tomato puree in cooked onions. Let it simmer for two
minutes.
Add fresh milk cream or malai in cooked onions, mix well
to combine all ingredients. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes on low heat.
Garnish with Kasuri methi powder and serve hot with rice, Roti or
Paratha.
Preparation time : 10 minutes
Cooking time : 15-20 minutes
