Heart It
Born on November 4, 1952, Rishi Kapoor made his debut as a child artist in his home banner RK Films 1970 musical hit, Mera Naam Joker. He started as the lead hero in Bobby (1973), also his father's film that made him a household name and helped him carve chocolate boy image and reached the pinnacle of success within a short span of time. The Kapoor khandaan ka chirag did more than 100 romantic films as the lead actor.
Over the years, the chocolate boy image that brought him name, fame and accolades overshadowed Rishi Kapoor, the actor. His childish looks and sweet persona did win him a huge female fan following, but not the accolades that he expected. The awards always eluded him. It's only now, at this age that Ranbir Kapoor's father is getting to experiment with his roles. Yet, there are several of his fantastic performances that bring the actor in him to the fore-be it the ruthless Rauf Lala in Agneepath, rural Jat policeman in Aurangzeb or hotel owner Mr Joseph in Chashme Baddoor. All this only proves that Chintuji (as fondly called) has always been a versatile hero-something that many are realising now.
As he brings in the celebrations, we wish a very happy birthday to the eternal romantic hero and wish to see him more often.
