Ramayan sets world record, becomes most-watched entertainment show
Ramayan's rerun makes a world record becomes the most watched entertainment show. According to a tweet on the national channel’s official Twitter handle, Ramayan’s rebroadcast has smashed viewership records worldwide and it has become the most watched entertainment show all over the world with 7.7 crore viewership on April 16th.
With coronavirus scare, the entire country is under lockdown and no fresh episodes are aired on TV as shooting for TV shows, films and web series are also stopped from March 17th last month. Channels are showing many old shows and some of them had a great run during its original airing. Ramayan and Mahabharat are performing great and netizens are hooked to these mythological shows. Everyday the episodes and scenes are being discussed on social media.
Ramayan’s lead actors Arun Govil, Sunil Lahri and Dipika Chikhlia have also come into the limelight ever since the rerun episodes have gone on-air. The actors are also equally thrilled with all the fan love and responses they have been getting. Initially, when Ramayan aired its first rerun episode, that week it garnered 17 mn viewership. Other iconic shows like Buniyaad, Shaktimaan, Shrimaan Shrimati and Dekh Bhai Dekh are also doing well on the TRP charts.
