A statistical and clinical significance in lowering blood pressure, was seen in first few weeks before stabilizing. Systolic blood pressure, which measures the pressure in the arteries when the heart muscle contracts, was lowered on average by 7 mmHg, and diastolic blood pressure, which is the pressure in the arteries when the heart is resting and refilling with blood between heart heartbeats, fell on average by 4.9 mmHg.
