Minor Girl Burnt To Death
Kanpur: A minor girl was allegedly burnt to death under mysterious circumstances in Kamalpur village in Maharajpur area here, police said on Thursday.
The incident took place yesterday when Anita (14), a class VIII student and a resident of Kamalpur village, went to her relatives place after returning from school, they said.
Anita was then caught and allegedly thrashed by her uncle for speaking over the phone following which she returned to her house, police said.
After sometime, the girl's neighbours saw smoke coming out of the house and rushed to the spot.
By the time they reached, her body was burnt, they said.
The body was sent for post-mortem, police said, adding the deceased's uncle and other relatives are being questioned.
