Lip Smacking Easy Chaat Recipe for the Weekend
Paneer Chaat with Chilli Chutney...
A sweet and sour paneer chaat served with spicy chilli chutney.
Ingredients
For the chutney: 100 gm slit green chillies, 3 tbsp roasted ground sesame seeds, 3 tbsp grated jaggery, 150 ml thick tamarind pulp, 1 tbsp chilli powder, 1/4 tbsp turmeric powder, 2 tbsp salt, 5 tbsp sesame oil, 1/2 tbsp mustard seeds, 1/2 tbsp fenugreek seeds
For the chaat: 400 gm paneer, 2 tbsp lemon juice, 2 tbsp dried mint, 1/4 tbsp roasted ground cumin, salt, 2 tbsp chat masala, 2 tbsp chopped coriander
How to make
For the chutney
Slit the green chillies lengthwise. Stir sesame powder and jaggery into tamarind pulp. Simmer over moderate flame for some time.
Heat 1 tbsp oil and saute mustard and fenugreek seeds for a few seconds. Add it to tamarind mixture.
Heat the remaining oil. Fry green chillies. Add tamarind mixture to the pan. Combine and set it aside.
For the paneer chat
Cube paneer and combine the remaining ingredients. Season and pour over paneer. Serve chilled with chutney.
