India has started administering a third-dose vaccine against Covid 19. These vaccine doses are provided to the priority groups of the population. As the vaccine is now open for children between the ages 15-18 from January 3rd. Many people are still confused about the third dose.
So I am sharing everything you need to know related to the third vaccine:
1. Healthcare workers, Frontline workers, and senior citizens aged above 60 with co-morbidities are eligible for it.
2. In a gap of 39 weeks or 9 months from the second dose is mandatory. For this, CO-WIN will update through an SMS for your due date.
3. Appointment booking can be done through an existing CO-WIN account.
4. Doctors certificate is not required at the time of the administration of the third dose, but consulting a doctor for it is advisable.
5. Government does not allow the mixing of vaccines. If you have got 1st and 2nd vaccines of Covidshield then the third vaccine should also be of Covidshield. and same as Covaxin.
6. Aadhar card, driving license, PAN Card, or passport any of this is required at the time of the third dose.

Many countries are administering booster doses to their people. In India, it is named a precaution dose. With the rapid increase in Covid cases with the new Omicron variant India surge to provide precaution dose. These doses will be provided to the people who have the chance to be caught by Omicron.
