Dharma Productions is not a new name in B-town. Dharma has given us many super hit pictures, like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Student of the Year. The sequel has also been a part of Dharma's thinking, as they made the sequel to Agneepath which was originally based on Amitabh Bachchan, but Dharma gave it a new twist in storyline and it was loved by everyone. Similarly, Dostana, a 2008 film, was a hit due to its peppy songs and other elements. Seeing the success of Dostana, Karan Johar decided to make a sequel of this film.
