A super hit movie star from the `60s and `70s turned politician, Jayalalithaa Jayaram was destined to live her life in the public eye. The queen of Tamil politics did enjoy the love and affection of lakhs of fans and supporters. She was born in Mysore on 24th February 1948 to a Tamil Iyengar family. She was the best of the best Chief Ministers a state can ever have. When she was jailed in the disproportionate assets case, some of her supporters had committed suicide. Such was her fan following. Fondly called Ammu and Puratchi Thalaivi, Jayalalithaa was actually worshipped by people of the state. Here are the late CM`s memorable schemes that made her such a huge hit in Tamil Nadu.
