On discussing about launch of huge no. of hybrid vehicles, Koo said introducing full-range hybrids will be very expensive. He added that as government extending benefits even to mild hybrid vehicles, it made sense to introduce the technology in such segments. For promoting clean fuel vehicles, currently the government levies excise duty of 12.5 per cent on hybrid vehicles. For conventional bigger cars and SUVs, it ranges from 24-30 per cent.
