Have fun with  crispy Khakhras, khakhra,  recipes,  desserts,  drinks,  main course,  tea time recipes
Khakhra is however a famous dish of Gujrat but it is popular in almost all North India. Khakhras are a much healthier alternative to fried puris when it is modified by our new method. Check out the quick recipe of Crispy Khakhra-

Ingredients
4 big khakhras, broken into piece, 1/4 cup sliced onions, 1/4 cup chopped capsicum, 1/4 cup shredded cabbage, 1 tomato salsa , 2 tbsp milk, 2 tsp butter, salt and freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch) powder to taste.

To be mixed into a tomato salsa
1/3 cup deseeded and finely chopped tomatoes, 1/4 cup finely chopped spring onions whites, 1/2 tsp finely chopped garlic (lehsun), 1/2 tsp finely chopped green chillies, 1/2 tsp sugar, 1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder, salt and freshly ground blackpepper powder to taste.

For the garnish
2 tbsp chopped spring onion greens, 1/4 cup grated processed cheese

Method

Heat the butter in a non-stick pan, add the onions and saute till they turn translucent. Add the capsicum and cabbage and saute for 2 to 3 more minutes. Add the tomato salsa and mix well. Cook for 1 to 2 more minutes. Add the milk, salt and pepper and bring to boil while stirring continuously. Transfer the stir-fry into a serving bowl and sprinkle spring onion greens and cheese over it.

Serve immediately with the khakhra pieces.
