the favourite desserts. When you start eating it, you don't satisfy with single
piece and want more. With this recipe, you can easily make Gulab jamuns in your
kitchen.
Ingredients
1 cup khova/mava
(200gms), 3/4 cup grated paneer
(100gms),
3 tbsp maida,
2 tbsp fine
sooji/rava, 4 cardamom powder/choti elaichi powder,
1 tbsp milk or add as
required,
1/4 tsp baking powder,Ghee for frying
Sugar syrup
1 and 3/4 cup sugar
(250gms),
1 cup wate,r
1 tbsp rose water
How to make
In a bowl take khova/mava.
Mash it well and remove lumps. Then add grated paneer, rava/sooji, maida,
baking powder and cardamom powder to the mashed khova. Mix them well that there
should be no lumps for smooth gulab jamuns. Add milk in the mixture to make
dough with milk. But don't knead it. If it is difficult to form balls or if
mixture appears dry, then add a few teaspoons of milk. Now, make small balls
from the dough. Cover the balls for 30 minutes and put it aside.
Take a bowl and dissolve
sugar in water.
Now heat the sugar solution to make one thread consistency
sugar syrup. Turn off the flame. Add rose water and stir. Keep the sugar
solution aside for cooling.
While the sugar syrup
is cooking, take a pan and heat ghee till it gets medium hot. Then gently place
the gulab jamun balls in the ghee. Rotate them in ghee till they are evenly
browned. Remove the gulab jamun balls from ghee.
Dip the hot gulab jamuns in
the sugar syrup for some time. Keep them dipped for 10 minutes and remove them
from syrup with a sieve. Sieve will remove excess syrup. Serve these hot gulab
jamuns.
