Moong Dal Halwa:-
Ingredients
1 cup yellow moong dal, few saffron strands, 1 tbsp warm milk, 1/2 cup ghee, 1 cup warm milk, 1 and 1/4 cups sugar, 1/2 tsp cardamom/elaichi powder, 10-15 chopped almonds
How to make
Soak yellow moong dal in enough water for 3 hours. Now drain it well. Make coarse paste in mixer without using any water. Keep aside. Take 1 tbsp of warm milk and dissolve saffron in it. Heat ghee in kadhai, add yellow moong dal paste and cook on medium flame for 25 minutes, while stirring continuously. Now boil 1/2 cup milk in a pan and dissolve saffron to it and mix well. Heat 1 cup water and add sugar to it to make sugar syrup. Now add saffron milk to moong dal paste and stir. Now add remaining milk to it slowly. Now add sugar syrup to mixture and cook for 4-5 minutes. Add cardamom powder and mix them. Serve warm Moong dal halwa garnished with chopped almond.
