Ingredients
1 cup gram flour, 1 tsp ajwain, 1/4 tsp
asafetida, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp chilli powder, salt, water (as
needed to make dough), oil for fryingHow to

Mix gram
flour, salt, asafoetida, turmeric powder and chilly powder together in a bowl. Add water. Knead it to make dough. Grease the
sev press from inside to reduce stickiness. Heat oil in pan to fry sev. Fill dough into sev press with the appropriate sieve with the smallest holes.
When oil gets hot, press out thin strands of the dough into hot oil. Fry till
the sev turns crispy. Generally the sev is done when the vigourous bubbling of
the oil subsides. Remove from oil and place on a paper towel to remove excess
oil. Cool and store in a air tight container.
