DARING fashion fundas to try on!! TABLECLOTH PRINTS

Last season's Prada collection overflowed with gingham fabrics. Designers appropriating that look for spring took it to mean something a little more pedestrian: tablecloth prints. Oscar de la Renta lined a kimono-style evening jacket in it, while Calvin Klein's red-check burlap fabric was left unfinished to fray at the edges--impromptu picnic style. Derek Lam adapted the trend with true distinction--offering easy-to-wear A-line dresses in oversize gingham, complete with matching turbans.
