P.V. Sindhu picked up the women's singles silver medal in badminton playing against Saina Nehwal. She was also a silver medalist at the 2017 BWF World Championships. Sindhu came to international attention when she broke into the top 20 of the BWF World Ranking in September 2012 at the age of 17. In 2013, she became the first ever Indian women's singles player to win a medal at the Badminton World Championships.

Dipika Pallikal Karthik and Joshna Chinappa settle for silver in women's doubles squash. Pallikal and Chinappa, who had won a historic gold in Glasgow Games four years ago, fell short against the New Zealand combine of Joelle King and Amanda-Landers Murphy losing 9-11, 8-11 in the title clash.
