Tangy Cheese Sticks:-
Ingredients
For Tomato Red Sauce
1/2 cup tomato pulp, 1 and1/2 tbsp olive oil, 1/4 cup onions (finely chopped), 1 tbsp garlic (finely chopped), 1 tbsp tomato puree, 1/4 tsp sugar, 1/2 tsp dried oregano, 2 tbsp fresh cream, salt to taste
For batter
1/2 cup plain flour/maida, 1/4 cup cornflour, 1/2 tsp dried oregano, 1/2 tsp dry red chilli flakes/paprika, 1/2 cup water, salt to taste
Other Ingredients
250 gms mozzarella cheese, 2 cups dry bread crumbs, oil for deep frying
How to make
For tomato red sauce
First, heat oil in a broad non-stick pan. Add onions and garlic and cook them on a medium flame till the onions turn translucent. Now add tomato pulp and mix well. Cook till the sauce becomes thick. Then mix tomato puree, sugar, salt, half cup water and mix well. Bring them to boil. Add oregano and cream. Mix all ingredients well and cook for 60 seconds. Remove from flame and keep aside.
For cheese sticks
Take mozzarella cheese and cut into sticks and keep them in the freezer for 10 minutes. In a bowl, take maida, cornflour, dried oregano, dry red chilli flakes and salt to taste. Make a thick batter using approximately 1/2 cup of water. Dip each cheese stick in the prepared batter and coat them evenly with bread crumbs evenly from all the sides to form a thick layer, pressing them firmly. Keep them in refrigerator for half an hour. Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep fry each stick till they turn golden brown from all the sides. Serve hot with tomato wine sauce.
