Century's biggest discovery, Gravitational Waves Detected

The LIGO team estimates that about 1.3 billion two black holes collided, one was about 36 times the mass of the Sun and the other was about 29 solar masses. As they spiraled inexorably into one another, they merged into a single, more-massive gravitational sink in space-time. Since gravitational waves pass through everything, the result traveled through the universe before reaching Earth.
