Festival of Diwali holds a special place in our lives as it is triumph of good over evil. Every year, we Indians celebrate it with lots of vigour and joy. In this festival, we illuminate our lives with beautiful diyas and lights. This is a festival of sweets, crackers, gift, love, energy and happiness. But there are few side effects of this festival that is pollution and noise. So, this year make some changes and celebrate eco friendly Diwali.

Being the festival of light, Diwali celebrations can be a big burden for the environment. Our Earth is in dangerous position and there is more need to celebrate environmental safe Deepavali. With global warming on the raise air pollution and sound pollution needs to be kept minimal. Let`s take a pledge this year to celebrate green diwali for mother earth. Here are a few tips.

Replace candles with oil diyas
We decorate and illuminate our houses with candles and colourful lights. Try to brighten your house with more and more of earthen diyas. Candles produce lots of toxins in environment and these can be used for one time only. During this festival, electricity consumption increases. Lighting earthen diyas will save electricity.
