Buying a house together 'shows commitment'!

Despite the apparent enthusiasm among young couples to buy a shared home, 89 per cent of those surveyed said they hadn't discussed who was entitled to what should the relationship break down. And 36 per cent of those polled said they were willing to show their commitment to their partner by buying a house together - leaving them financially vulnerable in the event of separation.

The research, which polled 1,500 people, was commissioned by law firm Slater & Gordon in response to an increase in people contacting them regarding cohabitation agreements to protect their assets should a relationship break down.
