The city is famous for its glorious culture and heritage. Not only this, Mysore is one of the cleanest cities in India. The festival starts with worshipping the god for a good yield, which in turn by distributing goods and buying new clothes. Most sweets in Mysore are made out of jaggery, groundnut, and dry coconut. Along with this, women go to each home distributing Kum Kum, Haldi, a piece of sugarcane and banana, as a sign of good health. While in each house Kite flying competition is a major hit to the festival.
