Heart It
The foods you eat not only play a role in how you feel, they can also impact the way you look. An unhealthy diet can mean dull skin, dry hair, brittle nails and blemishes, among a whole host of other problems. Here are some food for your beauty.
Strawberries
A cup has up to 130% of the DV of vitamin C, a potent antioxidant that boosts production of collagen fibers that help keep skin smooth and firm. More C may mean fewer fine lines too: Women with lower intakes were likelier to have dry, wrinkled skin. Early research also shows that ellagic acid, an antioxidant abundant in strawberries, protects the elastic fibers that keep skin from sagging.
Cabbage
Good old cabbage is green, leafy and well less than exotic. But this common leafy vegetable is rich in vitamins A, C and E, which means that it's a great food for your hair and skin. In fact, cabbage contains 11% more vitamin C than oranges and not many people know that. Get more vitamin C in your system to heal damaged cells and tissues and speed up collagen production. It is also rich in fiber, which promotes ongoing cleansing of the body.
Coconut water
Unlike coconut milk, coconut water is high in potassium and antioxidants without also being high in calories and fat. Great for everything from workout hydration to a hangover cure.
