Aamras is a popular dessert from Maharashtra and Gujarat. Aamras is plain mango puree or pulp and is served with puffed puris known as aamras puri.

Ingredients
400 grams mangoes, half tsp cardamom powder;
Optional pinch of saffron strands, sugar or powdered jaggery, 1/4 tsp dry ginger powder, water or milk as required

How to make
Rinse mangoes, peel and chop them.
Finely blend the chopped mango pieces.
Add cardamom powder and crushed saffron strands and stir.
Add some sugar or some milk or water if you find the ras too thick.
Let it chill in the refrigerator.
Serve aamras with pooris or chapattis.
