There is being alone and there is being lonely. Although they are two very similar terms, they have very different meanings. One is completely non-emotional and the other, well, it can break your heart if you let it. Here are some ways to beat that feeling and make your alone time something you actually look forward to.

Play with a dog
Dogs never seem to have big troubles. They are always energetic and up for fun. Ask someone who has a dog if you can borrow it for a couple of hours, or the day, and take your new best friend for a run.

Breathe
Take five minutes and consciously breathe. Count your breaths, inhale and exhale. When you focus on breathing, you will notice that you become more relaxed and your worries and troubles melt away.

Go for a walk
Walking always helps me clear my head and shed negative energy. It's especially therapeutic if you choose to walk at a scenic location.
