Heart It
The skin on the lips is also unlike skin anywhere else on the body. The rough (and sometimes painful), chapped lips that couldn't hold lipstick. With a little loving care, your lips can be perfect in no time. Here are some tips to hydrate your lips.
Treat your lips daily with a petroleum-based lip cover. Apply a thin cover and do not lick it off. This type of lip cover is non-drying, and petroleum-based lip covers allow your lips to breathe. This is very important in the healing process, as it provides both protection and moisture.
Drink lots of water, at least eight 8-oz. glasses per day. Your lips are still a skin surface, and all your skin benefits from lots of water. Unique to your lips as a skin surface is that, unlike your other skin surfaces, lips are not protected by tiny hairs. They are totally exposed, so keep them moist and hydrated by upping your water intake.
Choose a lipstick with vitamin E
There are many lipsticks that contain vitamin E which provides hydration to your lips. These lipsticks can be matte-based ones or shimmer ones as well.
