A lunar eclipse, also known as Chandra Grahan in India, occurs when Earth's shadow blocks the sun's light, which otherwise reflects off the moon. There are three types of lunar eclipses - total, partial and penumbral. The January 10 penumbral lunar eclipse is one of the four lunar eclipses that will take place in the year.
