Audi has unveiled the Q5 Sportback range in the form of the 2021 Audi SQ5 Sportback TDI. As the name suggests, this variant is powered by a diesel engine with very healthy power and torque figures enhancements in other departments making it a sportier alternative to the regular Q5 Sportback. The Audi SQ5 Sportback TDI is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that produces 341bhp of maximum power and a peak torque of 700Nm available from 1,750rpm until 3,250rpm. With Audi's quattro permanent all-wheel drive setup, power is transmitted to all four wheels. A sport differential will be offered as an optional extra that helps shuffle power between the rear wheels as required. It comes with an eight-speed gearbox.
Audi claims the SQ5 Sportback can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 5.1 seconds making it 0.6 seconds quicker than the Q5 Sportback 50 TDI variant. It has an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph. 20-inch wheels with 255/45 section tyres are standard, while 21-inch wheels are available as optional. Equipped with the S sport suspension, the Audi SQ5 Sportback rides 30mm lower than the Audi Q5 Sportback. While as standard, Audi's drive select offers six drive modes, a seventh "allroad" mode is added if the adaptive air suspension with S-specific tuning is selected from the options list.
